The kids will never want to go out for burgers again once they taste this home-made version.
The ingredient of Basic Beef Burger
- 750g beef mince
- 70g 1 cup breadcrumbs made from day old bread
- 1 4 cup chopped fresh continental parsley
- 1 large brown onion coarsely grated
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 1 egg lightly whisked
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons red tabasco pepper sauce optional or to taste
- salt freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 hamburger buns split
- 150g cheddar thinly sliced to serve
- 3 about 450g ripe tomatoes sliced to serve
- tomato sauce to serve
- 6 iceberg lettuce leaves shredded to serve
The Instruction of basic beef burger
- place the beef mince breadcrumbs parsley onion garlic egg worcestershire sauce and tabasco sauce in a large bowl season with salt and pepper use your hands to mix until evenly combined
- divide the mixture into 6 equal portions you can use a 125ml 1 2 cup measuring cup if you like use your hands to shape each portion into a patty about 1 5cm thick
- place the patties in a single layer on a tray lined with greaseproof paper cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to chill chilling the patties will help hold them together when cooked if you chill the patties for any longer you will need to increase the cooking time slightly
- heat half the oil in a large non stick frying pan over medium low heat add half the patties and cook for 4 minutes each side or until browned and cooked through transfer the patties to a plate cover loosely with foil and set aside to keep warm repeat with the remaining oil and patties
- meanwhile preheat grill on high place the hamburger buns cut side up under preheated grill and toast for 1 minute each side or until golden you may need to do this in batches depending on your grill size leave the grill on
- to serve top the bottom halves of the toasted hamburger buns with the patties then the cheddar slices return the bottom bun halves under the grill for 1 minute or until the cheddar melts top each with the tomato slices tomato sauce and shredded lettuce season with salt and pepper and cover with the hamburger bun tops serve immediately
